  5. I really liked the cartoon videos you put on your website becouse I find those as a more fun way to learn then an actual person speaking. I learned about acceleration and force. I also thought that one website with the math teacher teaching graphs was also helpful for the test this week.

  6. Kaitlyn.... When you support your answers, you need to provide proof or evidence. For some questions it might be a sentence that describes an example or a "reason" for your answer. For questions that require math or calculations.. you may simply show your work detailing HOW you come up with the answer.

    The reason this is important is two-fold. First, when you are correct you have reinforced your understanding. Second, if you are incorrect you have a means to identify your error and improve your understanding.

    Put one(10 in the bonus box.

    Thanks

  7. Zach, These are complex concepts and we really need to look at them from different perspectives and in different ways to develop our understanding. I too like the Eureka cartoons. The good thing about the video instructor is you can rewind and/or pause the demonstrations as often as you need.

    I am glad this helps - tell your friends.

    15) Interpreting Graphs. The graph below shows the motion of a remote-control car. During which segment is the car moving the fastest? The slowest? How do you know?

    Answer: The car is moving for the first 4 seconds, it stops for the next 4 seconds, and moves again for the last 4 seconds. It is moving fastest from 0-4 seconds because its slope is creates. It moves at 1 m/s. It is not moving from 4-8 seconds because its slope is zero.

    17) Problem Solving: Two drivers make a 100-km trip. Driver 1 completes the trip in 2 hours. Driver 2 takes 3 hours but stops for an hour halfway. Which driver had a greater average speed? Explain.

    Answer: Because the first driver drove the same distance in less time, the first driver had the greater average speed.

    21) Calculating Acceleration. During a slap shot, a hockey puck takes 0.5 second to reach the goal. It started from rest and reached a final speed of 35 m/s. What is the puck’s average acceleration?
    Answer:

    Acceleration =(final speed–initial speed)÷time

    Acceleration = (35m/s – 0m/s) ÷ 0.5s

    Acceleration = (35m/s) ÷ 0.5s

    Acceleration = 70 m/s2
    (70m per second per second)

    The average acceleration of the hockey puck = 70 m/s2 (70m per second per second)

  24. Mr. V, For the R in the RERUN would this be a good paragraph?

    This experiment was essentially supposed to demonstrate inertia. Inertia is the resistance of any physical object to any change in its state of matter. The main question pushing this experiment was “What is inertia?”. Some terminology words I needed to learn before or during this experiment were: inertia, analyze, synthesize, speed, velocity, acceleration, matter, solid, liquid, gas, plasma, prediction, and hypothesis. This experiment was designed by myself, created by inspiration in class. I determined what the independent, dependent, and control variables were by thinking to myself “What am I changing? What am I not changing?”. The independent variable was what I wasn’t changing, and the dependent variable was what I was changing. Everything else was a control variable.

    Q:Motion is..
    A: a change in position with respect to a reference point

    Q: What is the SI unit for length is?
    A: Meter

    Q: the formula for speed is?
    A: speed= distance/time

    Q:An ice cream truck is moving along at 20 m/s. It then speeds up for 5 seconds at 8 m/s2. What distance would the truck travel in this time interval?
    A:
    acceleration= distance/time
    acceleration=final speed- inital speed/time
    acceleration= 20 m/s - 8 m/s /5 seconds
    accelertaion= 12 m/s / 5 seconds
    acceleration= 2.4 m/s2

    i got all of the questions from the home text and i found the acceleration problem from this website.

    2. Q: Describe how a baseball player accelerates as he runs around the bases after hitting a home run.
    A: A baseball player accelerates by first increasing speed (starting to run), changing direction (running to the bases), and finally decelerating (coming to a dramatic stop at home base).

    Don't worry about your rough draft.. just show it to me when you come back and we can work it out. It is the Final draft that will make the difference.

    Most important ..watch out for wild pieces of wood .. they can come out of nowehere!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Yes thanks... but i dont know how i could present that cause it wood take me forever to read 78 cards.
    And I had already done my final draft typed and you gave everything a 4 and the N a 3. I am so confused???!!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Also the reason why I had 78 notecards is because I had I think 6 sources (some from the internet) and I have no idea why but I was in such a hurry to write them last night because I thought they were due today that i wrote so messy and not how I write usually it is freakky. And I think the wooden object used inertia to hit me on the head because i was just sitting in the corner and it was standing perfectly straight up and it just fell like a ghost pushed it or something. It had to hit me though... and I think inertia hates me......
